Kevin Caneco is a veteran, attorney, and dedicated fighter for his community. Growing up with middle class roots, Kevin would go on to college in Albany, New York, where his love for government and public service began. During his time in Albany, Kevin, served as a legislative aide in the State Assembly, and was immediately introduced into the fast paced and complex world of legislative business.

However, Kevin grew restless, and enlisted in the Army at 23, earning his commission as an Officer not too long after. Kevin would serve over 8 years on active duty, traveling the country and world, most notably as a Platoon Leader in Afghanistan, and a Company Commander in the storied 101st Airborne Division in FT. Campbell, KY.

As Kevin’s active duty service time ended, he entered Delaware Law School as a Delaware First State Scholar, while also joining the Delaware National Guard. During his time in law school, Kevin advocated for many criminal justice reform issues in Dover, volunteered with the ACLU, and became Chairman of the 9th Representative Democratic District Committe. Kevin quickly became recognized as an effective leader in local issues such as opposing mega warehouse construction, the destruction of historical homes, and fighting careless zoning decisions that were leading to overdevelopment.

Kevin lives just north of Middletown, DE town limits, where he resides with his daughter Erin, 8, his wife, Erica, and their energetic 2 year old doggo, Bella. In his free time, Kevin is an avid runner, history buff, and football fan. Kevin holds a B.A. from State University of New York at Albany, and a JD from Delaware Law School. He is a licensed attorney and is currently a Major in the Delaware National Guard.
