Open Spaces/Environment
Kevin is committed to a rigorous and robust preservation program effort by New Castle County. Protecting farmland, increasing open space requirements in new developments, and increasing park space only serves to improve the health and quality of life of all residents of NCC. As a preservationist at heart with a deep appreciation of our forests, waterways, and beaches, Kevin will work to protect our precious natural landscapes.
Responsible Development
As Delaware grows so does the need for housing. Growth can be positive, but it must be responsible. People chose to live in the 12th District due to its wonderful communities, thriving schools and excellent quality of life. Ensuring all development is tempered by active and wide engaging public input is critical in ensuring that we maintain the quality of life we desrve.
Economic Development
The 12th is full of wonderful places like the City of New Castle, Delaware City, Odessa, and the Route 13 corridor. We need to do all we can to promote and make small business options for our neighbors more affordable and sustainable. Working with government partners, we can find and expand new opportunities to have the option to walk to our local coffee shop or store, to allow the 12th to become more of a thriving small business corridor.
Fighting for our fair share
Those along the Route 13 corridor and below the canal often battle for their share of county resources such as paramedic support, NCCPD assistance, and fire services assistance. Kevin will work with his partners on County Council to ensure the 12th district receives the adequate funding and resource support it deserves. Kevin will be an accessible and transparent Councilman that will have continuous dialogue with the community to help guide his decisions.
